GASTROGENIUS is a breath monitor for combined methane, hydrogen and oxygen measurement, that can help detect food malabsorption, sugar intolerances and SIBO. The GASTROGENIUS is a portable desktop monitor which measures hydrogen (H2), methane (CH4) and oxygen (O2) levels in expired breath samples.
It helps health professionals to aid in the detection of gastrointestinal disorders like food malabsorption, sugar intolerances and Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO) in a non-invasive way. A group of patients do not produce hydrogen and would not be detected by Hydrogen Breath Testing (HBT) alone.
By performing Hydrogen and Methane Breath Testing (HMBT) using the GASTROGENIUS can help detect those patients, who don’t produce hydrogen but methane instead or a combination of both. The additional O2 reading in combination with a real-time traffic light dial and smiley face system helps motivate patients to provide an end-tidal sample. The GASTROGENIUS provides automatic O2 correction for more accurate results.
